john is originally from co tipperary but has lived in prosperous co kildare since marrying maudie cassidy, a native of prosperous, in 1970. john taught metalwork, engineering and technical drawing in newbridge, naas, castledermot, maynooth and prosperous.retired in 2002 having served as deputy principal in st farnans pps, prosperous from 1995. self taught in art john seeks to blend artistry (painterliness !) with an underlying love of precision. works mainly in oils and paints landscapes and still lifes
